Some time ago Wes fabbed up a 3 to 3.5" SS exhaust for my 1G. He told me he wanted to make it exactly as I envisioned it and took the time to answer EVERY dumb question and address EVERY little issue or thing that came up. When the exhaust arrived it was perfect, like he had taken it right out of my head. The craftsmanship, attention to detail and the way he handled the transaction was top notch and like someone else has said before me. I couldn't help but think damn I wish I knew this guy in person. Very stand up fella, and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Wes is the coolest person I have ever met in this community. I still remember how excited he was after making his first 9 second pass at Cecil County Dragway. Get well and get back over on this side of the map.

Can someone find out if they have a fund set up for donations?

I'm not one to give to people, but Wes has certainly given to many people and his family should have financial help so they focus on what's important.

Add me to the list of people that only know Wes through the internet but are deeply saddened by this news. He's a very likeable guy. I remember about 5 years ago my buddy Chad has Wes build him a tranny. Wes passed on a couple of tips for his build during phone conversations that are in my still in my list of DSM rules of thumb to this day. It's amazing to me how much DSMers can affect each others lives, even when they have never met. Wes and his family are in my prayers.

I met Wess about 5 years ago at a DSM meet. Nice guy. I know he was a regular customer through JNZ and was always nice to deal with. I was shocked to have read the news this morning. I hope he makes a full recovery and my prayers are with him and his family.

Brad Hess(Wes's brother) is registered on Honda tech. Is there anybody here who can make an account for him so we can be in direct contact with the family?

Wes just posted about 6 months ago he was in a serious car crash that changed things for his life and it sounded really bad

    http://teamnabr.com/vbb/showthread.p...554#post306554

So his family was probably just out of the woods from that and then into this.

If anyone has any, and I mean ANY, info pertaining to his condition PLEASE post it up immediately. If the family is running into money issues also let me know immediately. I am going to keep the donation fund open until he is out of the woods no matter how long that takes. If they have issues with $$$, I will assist as much as humanly possible. Once we have word on what the long term prognosis will be, I may set up a fund raiser through work, contact charitable orgs, etc. If anyone can think of ways let us know. Thanks.

This sucks to happen to anybody at any time, but it's got to be extra hard over the holiday season for his family and close friends. Best wishes for a full recovery.

Met Wes a couple times at Englishtown Raceway when he used to live in PA.
He was always ready to help out and excited about racing his car.

I'll say a prayer for your recovery.

Efforts are being made to contact the family (thanks Tony).

There's been a bunch of third hand mis-information floating around but nothing credible regarding either Wes or Ryan.

According to the hospital staff Wes is still in surgical ICU. He has not regained consciousness as of yet. Will is still attempting to get ahold of his wife, but he does have family in Lubbock. They are not at the hospital right now but it sounds like they're holding up as well as can be expected. That's all I have.

Received 2 emails today from Wes' father-in-law, Terry. First one:

"Joe, This is Wes's father in law as of about 10:30 our time (eastern) I talked to my daughter and they were taking Wes for an MRI on his brain. We have not heard from her since this morning. His injuries were broken pelvis, laserated kindey, broken vertibrate(1,2,3,6-10) but his spinal chord was not severed , this kept up of hopes. My concerns now are that we have not herd from my daughter since this morning. Thank you for your concern. Terry "

    Second one:

"This is Terry , Wes's father in law again I am not all here right now and I just wanted to add to the last message that Wes is on life support he is not breathing on his own. He was on medication for blood pressure to keep it up and when they would reduce the dosage his pressure would also come down , but as of today he is no longer on any medication and his bp is holding. He had brain damage with bleeding in the brain and this is the biggest concern right now. At 10:00 pm our time my daughter called and said the mri of his brain was ok ,they were looking for signs of a stroke, and that the cat scan showed blood in the brain but they were not sure if it was old blood or new. His parents were there and told my daughter that they think they saw him move his neck. Again thank you and your organization for your concern and support, pray for him.Terry"

Guys, given the severity of his injuries this is somewhat promising news. I wrote him back and I am sure he'll keep us in the loop. As soon as I receive word, I will post it on the board. Most of all, thank you all for your generosity for Wes. This has made a terrible Xmas somewhat special and shown that the world hasn't gone to Hell in a handbasket.

I'm glad to know we've gotten in touch with his family. I ended up leaving a message with my contact info for his wife at the hospital last night, but I have not heard anything back as yet (then again, with everything going on at the moment I don't exactly expect to).

I take it there is no truth to the rumor that he has been "upgraded" to stable condition (based on the emails from Terry)?

I have thought of Wes a few times during these holidays, and I didn't even know him on a personal level. I typically follow his posts though. He is in our prayers. Hang in there Wes, and stay strong.

Also, thank God the passengers in the other vehicle were OK.

Wow, this is probably the first time I've been without NABR for an extended period of time, and my heart just hit the floor.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Wess and his family. I didn't know him very well, but I purchased one of his clutches and chatted with him on the phone a couple of times. He went out of his way to give me some advice when nothing was working right for me. Definitely a stand-up guy.

From my very limited experience it was obvious what he was like and speaking with him immediately reminded me why I value NABR membership so much. Where else can you meet "strangers" that are like this?

    Get better Wess!

He is strong enough to put up with DSMs for years, I see no reason why he can't get through this. Pull through Wes!

I didn't realize I hadn't posted to this thread as I've seen a lot of support/well wishing on many other boards, but I am really sad to hear about this event.

He also may never wake up and would be on a ventilator in a nursing home for the rest of this life. As all of you know, Wes would never want this. He will probably be pulled off life support in the next day or two and we will let God take over. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers and I know Wes would be touched by all who are thinking about him. Someone has called me in regards to Wes's paypal account. I apologize for not getting back to you. The number I had was not correct and I had no way of getting back in touch with you. I do have access to his account.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I am touched by how many people reached out to us in this time of need.
I honestly don't know what more to say. I hate to be the bearer of news like this, especially about a good friend of mine.
